                                              Jeff Christie

                                                        Teaching Professional

Like many kids who played golf, it was Jeff Christie's father that introduced him to the game. He was always looking forward to the hole with the short pond to see if he could tee one up and get across.

He continued playing through high school, graduating from Newman Smith in 1986. It wasn't long before he earned the title of Junior City Champion in 1986. As a Dallas native, it was refreshing for Jeff to stay close to his roots as he followed a path to Grayson County Collage in Denison on a golf scholarship.

Opportunities for perfecting his passion were realized as the Head Golf Professional at Preston Golf Center and serving as staff at prestigious clubs like Bent Tree Country Club, Glen Eagles Country Club, Chase Oakes Golf Club and Stonebriar Country Club. Working under golf legends Eldridge Miles, Don January and Mickey Carey.

Jeff didn't waste any time; he knew he wanted to won his own facility. That dream became a reality when Vista Ridge Golf Canter in Flower Mound was opened the spring of 1991. He ran this state of the art golf driving range until 2009 serving as the President and Head Golf Pro offering specialized clinics to improve the game of women and junior golfers throughout North Texas. Splitting his time between two practice facilities, he also served as President and Head Golf Professional at Carrollton Golf Center for 5 years during that time.

Jeff's talents don't stop at ownership; he truly loves the game and is good at it. H tied the course record at L.B. Houston Golf Course in 1994, scoring 65. He shot his lowest competitive round of golf at the US OPEN qualifier at Twin Creeks in Allen, scoring a 67.

Jeff in not only a scratch golfer, owner and operator of multiple golf practice facilities but is an expert in golf course management too. You can see that for yourself at his latest endeavor, Christie's Golf Ranch in Pilot Point. He is not only the owner and Head Golf Professional; he was the Co-Architect and Designer for this facility. Jeff and Christie's Golf Ranch were recently featured in the Denton Chronicle and Dallas Morning News because of the unique design of the facility and unwavering passion of it designer, owner and operator, Jeff Christie.

When Jeff is not surrounded by his love of golf, he serves in the Discovery Training Ministry and attends Fellowship Church.

Jeff would tell you he loves the short game, it's all about strategy and getting the ball in the hold through least resistance. Every player has his or her own style and/or technique, Jeff will quickly identify that; he says it's about fine tuning the fundamentals so you become the player you want to be. Coupled with Jeff's passion and experience for the game he will coach you so you can reach your goals. Sometimes you may need to cherish the good shots instead of the good scorecard.
